DP World Southampton provide a fast, reliable and secure service to move containers through the port of Southampton. They are one of the most productive terminals for shipside and landside operations in the UK, keeping the supply chain running smoothly.
With a workforce of over 800 staff and contractors, DP World required a clear, professional newsletter design which would carry the various news stories, updates and important information their staff need access to. Having been given the brief of developing a newsletter from scratch the team here at Recognition Creative suggested various alternatives for its title, all of which tied in with the location or industry.

Newsletter title ideas such as ‘Safety Matters’ and ‘The Shipping Report’ were unearthed during our initial brainstorming process, however after review and further discussions with DP World, it was clear that the objective of the newsletter was to carry a mix of reports, news, general information and health and safety details to all internal staff so something more generic was required.
A play on words emerged as the winner: Quay People. This worked on multiple levels, engaging with the staff along with one of DP World’s core values, helping it’s people reach their full potential. Once the title was agreed we set to work creating a masthead, cover design, style set and templates to enable quick and easy production of following newsletters.
