Founded in the heart of Southampton and trading for over 150 years, Martin’s Rubber are the specialist manufacturers of seals, gaskets and bespoke rubber mouldings for engineers and manufacturers across aerospace, defence, automotive and energy sectors. 

The Marketing team at Martin’s Rubber briefed Recognition to design and develop a modern looking, easy to navigate corporate website to help push business forward, in line with their internal marketing team.

It’s easy to navigate

The first step was to modernise the existing branding, making it suitable for use online. 

Recognition then set about researching, understanding the existing user experience (UX) and undertaking a planning process with the client; the usability of the site was developed from a heavy, multi layered left hand navigation to a more concise header drop down navigation enabling users to move more easily around the site. 

We developed an industry reflective icon set and designed a suitable theme to run across the entire site.  We recommended developing this as a WordPress based site which the client agreed would be ideal for the internal marketing team so they could upload content independently.

We migrated the initial content and went live, supporting the internal marketing team with the necessary WordPress training, so they could feel confident uploading content as and when necessary.

The result is a modern looking, easy to use website which has helped Martin’s Rubber push into new market sectors as well as develop existing clients. A true reflection of their fully rounded and broad-based service.
